Authorities said a 13 year old boy riding an electric bicycle was killed after being struck by a vehicle Monday night near 185th Avenue and Bethany Home Road in Goodyear.
Goodyear, AZ.- A 13 year old boy was killed following an e bike accident involving a vehicle Monday night in Goodyear.
The accident occurred around 8 p.m. on August 17 near 185th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
Deputies responded to the area following reports that a child riding an electric bicycle had been struck by a vehicle.
Emergency crews arrived and found the 13 year old boy suffering from life threatening injuries.
The child was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities said he later died from his injuries.
The boy was a student in the Litchfield Elementary School District.
Authorities have not released additional information about the driver or vehicle involved in the collision.
Detectives continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident and work to determine what led to the child being struck.
The accident remains under investigation.
