Illinois State Police said two people were hospitalized following a two vehicle accident Monday morning on Illinois Route 29 northwest of Owaneco.
Owaneco, IL.- Two people were injured following a two vehicle accident Monday morning near Owaneco, according to Illinois State Police.
The accident occurred near Illinois Route 29 and County Road 1500 East northwest of Owaneco.
Troopers said the collision involved two vehicles and both occupants suffered injuries.
Both injured people were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not released additional information regarding the identities of those involved or the severity of their injuries.
A second accident occurred at the same location following the initial collision.
No injuries were reported in the secondary accident.
Illinois Route 29 remained closed between Owaneco and the Taylorville Correctional Center while emergency crews worked at the scene and authorities investigated the collisions.
The roadway remained closed as of approximately 11:45 a.m.
