Authorities said one person was injured and three people were displaced following a house fire Tuesday night on South Faraday Avenue in Peoria.
Peoria, IL.- One person was injured following a house fire Tuesday night on the city’s south side.
The fire was reported shortly before 8:30 p.m. on August 18 at a residence in the 1700 block of South Faraday Avenue near West Grinnell Street.
Emergency crews responded to the home and found flames burning inside one room. Authorities said the fire had also spread into an outside wall of the residence.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and cut an opening in the roof to help remove heat and smoke from the home.
One resident suffered injuries during the incident and was transported by ambulance to a local emergency department for treatment.
Authorities have not released additional information regarding the injured person’s condition or the extent of the injuries.
Three people were displaced from the residence as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting those residents following the incident.
Initial information indicates the fire appears to have been unintentional. Additional details about how the fire started have not been released.
