Troopers said a 12 year old girl was killed and four others were injured following a two vehicle accident Saturday afternoon near the Alabama border in Holmes County.
Bonifay, FL.- A 12 year old Chicago girl was killed and four other people were injured following a two vehicle accident Saturday afternoon near Bonifay, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on August 15 at State Highway 81 and Holmes County Road 185.
Troopers said a pickup truck traveling from Alabama ran a stop sign and struck an SUV carrying the 12 year old girl.
The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two adults traveling in the SUV suffered serious injuries in the collision and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 16 year old from Geneva, Alabama, also suffered serious injuries.
A 16 year old passenger in the pickup truck from Bemern, Alabama, sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved.
