Authorities said a motorcyclist was killed following an accident involving an SUV Saturday night on North Main Street in Jacksonville.
Jacksonville, FL.- A motorcyclist was killed following an accident involving an SUV Saturday night on Jacksonville’s Northside.
The accident occurred around 8 p.m. on August 15 in the 2500 block of North Main Street.
Authorities said the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on North Main Street while an SUV was traveling northbound.
The driver of the SUV attempted to make a left turn into the westbound lanes of 16th Street.
The turn placed the SUV in the path of the southbound motorcycle, resulting in a collision.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and transported the injured motorcyclist to a local hospital for treatment.
The motorcyclist died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene following the accident and is cooperating with authorities.
Additional information about the identities of the motorcyclist and SUV driver has not been released.
