Officer Hurt in Patrol Vehicle Accident on Interstate 11 in Henderson

Authorities said one police officer was injured after two Metro patrol vehicles collided Friday morning on Interstate 11 in Henderson.

Henderson, NV.- One police officer was injured following an accident involving two Metro patrol vehicles Friday morning in Henderson, according to Metro police.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. on August 14 on northbound Interstate 11 before Sunset Road.

Police said both patrol vehicles were involved in the collision while participating in a procession for fallen LVMPD Officer Austin Abedelnabi.

Emergency crews responded to the scene following the collision.

One officer was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Several lanes of northbound Interstate 11 were closed while emergency crews assisted those involved and worked to clear the accident scene.

Authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances that led to the collision or the extent of damage to the patrol vehicles.

The accident remains under investigation.
