Volusia County, FL.- One person was injured following a multi vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred around 4:48 p.m. on August 10 on eastbound Interstate 4 near DeBary.
Troopers said a Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound when its driver failed to stop for traffic and struck another vehicle from behind.
The impact pushed that vehicle into a car ahead, resulting in a chain reaction collision.
Investigators said the F-150 driver later attempted to change lanes and struck another vehicle. The vehicle that was hit left the roadway and overturned onto its right side.
One person sustained minor injuries and did not require transportation to a hospital.
Authorities said the pickup driver left the scene following the accident. A witness followed the truck and provided updates to law enforcement, helping deputies locate the driver.
The driver, identified as a 48 year old Deltona man, was arrested and faces DUI and other criminal charges. Authorities said an additional charge was filed for leaving the scene of an accident involving injury.
The accident remains under investigation.
