Police said a pedestrian suffered life threatening injuries after being struck by an SUV Sunday evening on East Tropicana Avenue west of Koval Lane in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, NV.- A pedestrian was seriously injured following an accident Sunday evening in Las Vegas.
The accident occurred around 8:08 p.m. on August 2 on East Tropicana Avenue west of Koval Lane.
Investigators said a 2016 Land Rover Discovery was traveling eastbound on Tropicana Avenue when a 45 year old man crossed the roadway outside a marked or implied crosswalk and entered the path of the SUV.
Authorities said the front of the Land Rover struck the pedestrian, throwing him onto the roadway.
The pedestrian was transported to UMC Hospital, where medical personnel determined he had sustained life threatening injuries.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved, other than the pedestrian’s age and gender.
The accident remains under investigation.
