Troopers said a man was killed after being struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning while crossing State Route 347 near Old Maricopa Road in Maricopa.
Maricopa, AZ.- A pedestrian was killed following an accident Tuesday morning in Maricopa, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The accident occurred around 4 a.m. on July 21 on northbound State Route 347 near Old Maricopa Road.
Emergency crews pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
Authorities said the victim had not been identified as of the initial report.
Investigators located a pickup truck with damage to its right headlight parked along the shoulder.
State Route 347 was closed in both directions for several hours, causing significant traffic delays before reopening around 8 a.m.
The accident remains under investigation.
