Wellton, AZ. – A 56-year-old Yuma resident was killed in a collision involving a semi-truck on Thursday morning in Wellton.
According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at the intersection of East County 10th Street and South Avenue 22 East at around 7:10 a.m.
A GMC Sierra 1500 was traveling on County 10th Street when it failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a semi-truck traveling southbound on Avenue 22 East.
Paramedics pronounced the 56-year-old driver of the GMC dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi-truck was transported to Onvida Health with minor injuries.
