Elkhart County, IN. – A buggy driver died at the hospital while receiving treatment after a crash on Thursday afternoon in Elkhart County.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at State Road 13 and County Road 34 at around 2 p.m.

A 2018 Ram 3500 was traveling southbound on State Road 13 when the driver failed to see a buggy in front of him.

The driver of the Ram tried to avoid the buggy, but an oncoming vehicle kept him from leaving the lane, and the pickup truck struck the buggy.

The buggy driver suffered severe head trauma and was airlifted to Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

More details concerning the crash were not provided.
