Officials said a 69-year-old Oregon man was heading the wrong-way in the northbound lane. An SUV traveling north and operated by a 44-year-old woman of Tampico tried to avoid a head-on collision with the Nissan by swerving into the other traffic lane.

Ogle County, IL.- Three people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle accident on Thursday morning in Ogle County, according to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident happened at about 8:15 a.m. on June 25 in the 8000 block of S. IL Route 2, on the bridge south of Grand Detour, near Dixon.
Officials said a 69-year-old Oregon man was heading the wrong-way in the northbound lane. An SUV traveling north and operated by a 44-year-old woman of Tampico tried to avoid a head-on collision with the Nissan by swerving into the other traffic lane. The Nissan hit the passenger side of the SUV causing it to spin out and crashed into a guard rail before crashing into a second northbound car. The northbound vehicle operated by a 37-year-old man also hit the guard rail.
The 37-year-old, the 69-year-old man and a SUV passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The 69-year-old was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, operating an uninsured motorcycle, no valid registration and improper lane usage.
An investigation is ongoing.
