Panama City, FL. – A 54-year-old man was killed after a traffic collision on Friday afternoon in Panama City, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred a while before 4:30 p.m. on June 19 at the intersection of Bay Head Road and Cherokee Street.
Troopers said a 40-year-old man was traveling southbound on Cherokee Street in a pickup truck when he entered his pathway on an SUV entering the junction on Bay Head Road.
The truck driver was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed.
The 54-year-old man was killed in the collision.
The 40-year-old man was arrested and charged with DUI causing death or severe injury and hit-and-run.
