Lansing, IL. – A 23-year-old man from Hammond was killed after a traffic collision on Wednesday morning in Lansing, according to the Illinois State Police.
The accident occurred on June 24 on I-80/94.
Police said the young man was heading to work in Elk Grove Village when his vehicle experienced a tire issue. He was trying to fix the tire when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver then fled the scene after the crash.
The man was declared dead at the crash site.
