Rider Dies in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 164 near Milepost 7 in Linn County

Troopers said a green Dodge Ram was heading westbound on Highway 164 near Albany when it crashed into a red Honda motorcycle heading southbound at the junction of Scravel Hill Road.

Linn County, OR. – A motorcyclist was killed after a traffic collision on Friday last week, according to the Oregon State Police.

The accident happened at 10:01 p.m. on June 13, on Highway 164 near Milepost 7.

Troopers said a green Dodge Ram was heading westbound on Highway 164 near Albany when it crashed into a red Honda motorcycle heading southbound at the junction of Scravel Hill Road.

The Honda rider, a 41-year-old man of Albany, was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The Dodge driver, a 47-year-old man of Albany, was not hurt in the crash.

Traffic delays were experienced for around three hours after the collision.

The Dodge driver was arrested for DUI, driving while suspended, reckless driving and manslaughter in the second degree. He was lodged at the Linn County Jail.

The Albany Fire Department, the Jefferson Fire District, and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted the OSP at the scene.
