Tucson, AZ. – A 56-year-old man was killed after a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Monday morning in Tucson.
According to the Tucson Police Department, the accident occurred at around 12:30 a.m. May 11 near 12th Avenue and Ajo Way.
Police said the man was trying to cross South 12th Avenue south of West District Street when he was struck by a southbound car that was believed to be driving above the 35-mile-per-hour speed limit.
The man was declared dead at the crash site.
The man was not in a crosswalk at the time.
The involved driver fled the scene after the crash and police are searching for them.
No further details regarding the accident were provided.
