Joliet, IL. – Three persons were hospitalized after a traffic collision late Tuesday afternoon in Joliet, according to the Joliet Fire Department.
The accident occurred at 4:18 p.m. on May 5, at Black and Essington roads.
Officials said four vehicles collided for unknown reasons. One of the cars overturned severally and came to a halt on its roof. It then caught fire in the engine compartment.
One of the drivers was pinned inside his vehicle and was extricated by fire officials.
Three people were transported to St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment.
Police closed the junction for a few hours to give way to an on-scene investigation.
An investigation is underway.
