Troopers said a 2006 Ford E250 van was heading southbound on San Casa Drive when it hit a bicyclist trying to cross the road.

Englewood, FL. – A 33-year-old bicyclist killed after a hit-and-run accident on Tuesday night in Englewood, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at San Casa Drive and 10th Street on April 28.
Troopers said a 2006 Ford E250 van was heading southbound on San Casa Drive when it hit a bicyclist trying to cross the road.
The bicyclist was declared dead at the crash site.
The Ford driver fled the crash site with the bicycle lodged underneath. The van was later found at a residential address on Michigan Avenue. It was confiscated as evidence for forensic examination.
The driver, an Englewood resident, was charged with hit-and-run crash causing death.
An investigation is underway.
