Marion County, FL. – A 22-year-old woman of Deer Island was killed after a rear-end motorcycle accident on Saturday night in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred on I-75 South near mile marker 349, just south of State Road 200 at about 9:23 p.m. on April 11.
Troopers said the woman was riding her motorcycle south on Interstate 75 when a vehicle hit her from behind. The impact threw her from the bike, and she was struck by an SUV.
She was transported to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
According to troopers, the woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The vehicle driver and the SUV driver were not injured in the crash.
