This March Lerner & Rowe Injury Attorneys once again partnered with ALT AZ 93.3 and Valley of the Sun United Way to sponsor the Pantry Pack Party in Maricopa County, Arizona. Our premiere personal injury law firm donated $6,500 to fund pantry pack supplies, contributing to a monthly program that assembles and distributes 1,500 shelf-stable food packs to students and families at high-need schools throughout the Phoenix metro area.

What Is the Pantry Pack Party?
The Pantry Pack Party is a hands-on community volunteer event organized by Valley of the Sun United Way in partnership with local businesses and media sponsors, including ALT AZ 93.3. Volunteers gather to assemble pantry packs—boxes of shelf-stable, nutritious food items—that are delivered directly to schools serving food-insecure students in Maricopa County.
The program operates throughout the school year, providing 1,500 pantry packs per month to ensure consistent access to food for families who need it most.
School staff identify students who can benefit and distribute packs discreetly, reducing stigma while increasing access.
Why Food Insecurity in Maricopa County Demands Action
Food insecurity is a persistent challenge across Maricopa County, Arizona:
- More than 400,000 individuals face chronic hunger in the region
- 1 in 5 children in Maricopa County are unsure where their next meal will come from
- Many families rely on school meal programs as a primary source of daily nutrition
The Pantry Pack program addresses the “weekend gap” and school-break periods when children lose access to school-provided meals. By stocking homes with shelf-stable groceries, the initiative helps families maintain nutritional stability year-round.
