67-year-old Florida man killed in collision on Highway 97 near milepost 31 in Sherman County
Sherman County, OR. – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Monday morning in Sherman County, according to Oregon State Police.
The fatal collision occurred on Highway 97 near milepost 31 at around 4:02 a.m. on January 5.
Investigators said a northbound red Honda HR-V left its lane of travel for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a southbound Freightliner semi-truck pulling a trailer.
A Florida man driving the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man from Willows, California, driving a Freightliner, was not injured.
More details about the accident were not released.
The accident remains under investigation by Oregon State Police, with assistance from local fire, sheriff’s deputies, and transportation officials.
