Miami, FL. – Two Miami police officers were injured after a motorcycle accident on Wednesday in Miami, according to the Miami Police.

The accident occurred on January 7th on Dolphin Expressway at LeJeune Road and Northwest 42nd Avenue.

Police said the officers were on their motorcycles conducting a funeral escort on westbound SR-836 when a black SUV tried to cut off the procession causing the two officers to crash into each other.

Following the collision, the officers sustained shoulder, back and leg injuries. They were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment and were expected to be okay.

The involved driver was cooperative with officials.

Three westbound lanes on the Dolphin Expressway between 42nd and 57th Avenues were closed.

An investigation is underway.
