Chicago, IL. – A driver was hurt after a semi-truck collision on Monday afternoon in Illinois, according to the Illinois State Police.

The accident happened at about 4:30 p.m. on January 5th on Bishop Ford Expressway near 127th Street.

Police said a semi struck the Norfolk Southern Bridge dislodging its intermodal trailer. The trailer then struck a garbage truck that was in the center lane.

The trailer and the garbage truck stopped against the left concrete median barrier.

One driver sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital. The other driver declined medical treatment at the crash site.

Traffic delays were experienced in the area. All lanes reopened at 6:35 p.m.
