Deputies said the man was driving north on Glasford Road, ran a stop sign and crashed into another car heading west on Glasford-Canton Road.

Peoria County, IL. – A 65-year-old Peoria County man was killed after a traffic collision late Saturday afternoon near Glasford, Peoria County.

According to the Peoria County Coroner’s Office, the accident occurred a while after 4:00 p.m. on January 3rd on South Glasford Road.

Deputies said the man was driving north on Glasford Road, ran a stop sign and crashed into another car heading west on Glasford-Canton Road.

The northbound car rolled over severally throwing the male driver out of the vehicle.

The 65-year-old man, who lived on South Glasford Road, sustained multiple blunt force trauma injuries and was declared dead at the crash site.

The junction was closed for several hours following the collision.

An investigation is underway.
