Troopers said the 25-year-old was driving their pick-up truck east on US 27, and the 63-year-old man was driving a pick-up truck east on US 27, ahead of the 25-year-old.

Ocala, FL. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly collision that killed a 25-year-old man from Ocala and left a 63-year-old man of Williston with severe injuries early Monday morning in Ocala.
According to a FHP report, the accident happened a while before 2:30 a.m. on US 27, just west of NW 90th Avenue Road.
Troopers said the 25-year-old was driving their pick-up truck east on US 27, and the 63-year-old man was driving a pick-up truck east on US 27, ahead of the 25-year-old.
The pickup did not slow and rear-ended the 63-year-old’s pickup truck. The two vehicles spun out and the 25-year-old’s pickup truck flipped over, throwing the driver from the truck and landed in the roadway.
A pickup operated by a 44-year-old from Anthony was heading east on US 27 and struck the 25-year-old.
The 25-year-old was declared dead at the crash site.
The 63-year-old driver was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. The 44-year-old driver was not hurt in the collision.
Police closed eastbound lanes of US 27 to give way to an on-scene investigation. The roadway has since reopened.
