Santa Fe, N.M. – A motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision on Friday night in Santa Fe.
According to the Santa Fe Police Department, the accident happened around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of St. Francis Drive and Cerrillos Road.
The 24-year-old Santa Fe resident was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a Chevrolet sedan operated by a 16-year-old girl with a learner’s permit.
The rider was taken to a local hospital with severe head trauma and head injury and subsequently airlifted to the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque.
The teen driver and her passenger, also a 16-year-old girl, were uninjured.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
