The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital for treatment

Montgomery County, IN. – Two people died, and eight others were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon just south of Crawfordsville in Montgomery County.
According to the Indiana State Police, the accident happened around 3:15 p.m. on U.S. 231 at County Road 600 South.
A 2003 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east on C.R. 600S when it entered the westbound lane and passed several stopped eastbound vehicles. The vehicle continued through the intersection and into the travel lanes of U.S. 231 and struck a southbound 2021 Kia K5.
The impact pushed the Kia into the northbound lane, where it collided with a 2024 Buick Enclave that had six occupants.
The driver of the Kia and a passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
A rear seat passenger of the Kia was extricated from the car and was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
All six occupants of the Buick sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The pickup truck driver faces felony charges of operating while intoxicated.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
