Two adults in the horse-drawn buggy were pronounced dead on the scene

Shipshewana, IN. – Two people died in a crash involving an Amish buggy on Tuesday afternoon in Shipshewana.
According to the Indiana State Police, the accident happened around 3 p.m. on U.S. 20 near CR 1000 West.
A dump truck driven by a 20-year-old drifted off the road and struck an Amish horse-drawn buggy on the shoulder that was traveling eastbound on U.S. 20.
Two adults in the horse-drawn buggy were pronounced dead on the scene.
The police did not reveal the condition of the 20-year-old or the severity of the injuries suffered.
According to the officers, drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
