Anacortes, WA. – A 36-year-old teacher was killed in a car accident in Anacortes on Monday morning.

The accident happened around 7:00 a.m. on State Route 20 near North Dewey Beach Drive.

WSP said a 27-year-old man was driving a Toyota Tacoma southbound on the highway when he crossed the centerline and crashed into a Chevrolet.

The Toyota continued and struck a Honda Civic driven by a 36-year-old man.

A tire from the Chevrolet then hit a fourth car.

The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a Spanish teacher at Anacortes High School.

The Toyota driver was taken to the hospital for treatment.

All the involved drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the accident.

WSP is investigating the accident.
