Authorities said a school bus crashed into a utility pole taking the wires down before entering into a ditch.

Nunda Township, IL. – One child was injured after a traffic collision involving a school bus on Monday afternoon in Nunda Township, according to the Illinois State Police.
The accident occurred a while after 4:30 p.m. December 1, at Colby Point Road and South Justen Road.
Authorities said a school bus crashed into a utility pole taking the wires down before entering into a ditch.
Two children, ages 4 and 6 years old, and the driver stayed in the bus until ComEd could secure the downed power lines and also remove additional tensioned utility lines above the bus. They were removed from the bus a while before 5:30 p.m.
One of the children sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The second child was assessed by paramedics and released to their parents at the scene. The driver was not injured in the collision.
It took almost two hours to work on the electrical poles and to remove the bus from the crash site.
An investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is underway.
