Portland, OR. – A man was hospitalized after a hit-and-run collision involving a moped in Portland early Saturday morning, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
The crash occurred at about 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of North Lombard Street and Northeast 52nd Avenue.
Authorities say officers arrived to find a man believed to have been struck by a car while riding a moped lying in the roadway.
Shortly afterward, officers located a sedan with a moped lodged in its front grill near Northeast Lombard Street and Northeast 47th Avenue.
The moped rider was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was stabilized and is expected to survive.
The driver had fled the scene, and no suspects were located.
Lombard Street was closed for several hours following the crash before reopening.
The accident remains under investigation.
