The driver of the Optima exited the vehicle and was struck by a southbound Volvo semi-truck.

Tipton, IN. – One person died in a car crash on Thursday morning in Tipton.
According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 3:59 a.m. in the 25000 block of U.S. 31 South.
A Kia Optima was traveling southbound on U.S. 31 when it struck a deer in the roadway and left the road, traveling down the embankment.
The Optima re-entered the road and stopped in the outside lane.
The driver of the Optima exited the vehicle and was struck by a southbound Volvo semi-truck.
The Kia Optima driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi-truck driver was unhurt. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
More details about the accident were not released.
