According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at NW 78th Avenue at CR 235.
The 83-year-old was driving a Ford Maverick eastbound on NW 78th Avenue when he collided with a Nissan Maxima traveling southbound on CR 235.
The driver of the Ford, an 83-year-old man from Bell, was killed.
The driver of the Nissan was hospitalized with serious injuries.
