The Palatka man was ejected from the scooter and was pronounced dead at the scene
Palatka, FL. – A 21-year-old scooter rider died in a collision on Sunday night in Palatka.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 19 and Horseman Club Road.
The 21-year-old Palatka man was riding a scooter eastbound on Horseman Club Road and was struck by an SUV driven by a 52-year-old Fort McCoy woman.
The SUV was heading southbound on SR 19 when the scooter entered its path.
The Palatka man was ejected from the scooter and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
