Phoenix, AZ. – A woman and six children were injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus on Tuesday in Phoenix.

The collision occurred around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of 16th Street and Glendale Avenue.

An SUV reportedly struck the side of a school bus carrying 68 students.

The woman driving the SUV was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Six children on the school bus sustained minor injuries, but none of them were hospitalized.

Although the bus is from Saints Simon & Jude Cathedral School, the Diocese of Phoenix confirmed the children attend another Catholic elementary school and were on a field trip.

Parents were notified after the incident.

The accident remains under investigation.
