Lee County, FL. – One person died in a hit-and-run crash on Wednesday morning in Lee County
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 1 a.m. on US 41 north of Constitution Boulevard at South Tamiami Trail.
An adult pedestrian was struck by a suspected Nissan Altima and a Chevrolet Malibu.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital but later died.
Officers later found a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu with damage to the left front at the apartment parking lot and a 2005 Nissan Altima with a busted windshield and damaged hood at the parking lot in Fort Myers.
The Chevrolet was impounded for further investigation.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
