The Salem man was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene

Yamhill County, OR. – One person was killed and one other was injured after two vehicles collided on Thursday evening in Yamhill County.
According to the Oregon State Police, the crash occurred on Highway 153 near milepost 9 at around 5:43 p.m.
Preliminary investigation indicated that a southbound Hyundai Accent, driven by a 45-year-old Salem man, crossed the centerline for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a northbound Chevrolet Bolt operated by a 64-year-old Dundee man
The Salem man was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Bolt driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
No arrests were reported.
Oregon State Police were assisted by the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Dayton Fire, Amity Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
The accident remains under investigation by the Oregon State Police.
