Belle Glade, FL. – A South Bay man was killed after a crash on Wednesday afternoon in Belle Glade.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 12:33 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 80 and Hatton Highway.
The 71-year-old South Bay man was driving a vehicle eastbound on State Road 80 when he reportedly failed to stop at a red light and was struck by a 2026 Freightliner Cascadia semi-truck that was making a left turn at the intersection.
The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the semi-truck was unhurt.
