A passenger in the car was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries
Ontario, OR. – One person was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday morning in Ontario, according to Oregon State Police.
The fatal accident happened around 11:17 a.m. on Highway 201 near milepost 17.
Police said a northbound Pontiac G5 operated by a Vale man entered the southbound lanes for unknown reasons and struck the trailer of a southbound Freightliner commercial motor operated by a 46-year-old Fruitland man.
The driver of the Pontiac was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the car was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
OSP is investigating the accident.
