Airway Heights, WA. – A police officer was injured in a two-car collision on Tuesday in Airway Heights, according to the Airway Heights Police Department.
The injury crash happened at the intersection of 21st Street and Hayford Road.
Authorities said a police officer was directing traffic near the scene of an earlier crash when he was struck by a driver who failed to yield.
The police officer was trapped inside his car and was extricated by responding firefighters.
He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and was released.
Police determined that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
