Riviera Beach, FL. – One person was killed and another was injured in a collision involving a minibike on Saturday afternoon in Riviera Beach.
According to the Riviera Beach Police Department, the accident happened around 3 p.m. on the 600 block of West Blue Heron Boulevard.
A 16-year-old Riviera Beach boy was driving the mini bike with a 17-year-old passenger eastbound when they were struck by a Nissan Sentra, which was traveling above the posted speed limit.
Both teens were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where the 16-year-old died.
Police say both teens were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
