Garland, Texas — October 10, 2025: Authorities identified Juan Pablo Rios Aguilar, age 32, as the man killed in a crash involving a Garland Police Department officer along the 1500 block of West State Street.
According to police, the incident occurred early in the morning when an officer was driving along West State Street and encountered a vehicle stopped in a lane of traffic with no lights on. Reports indicate that Rios Aguilar was standing outside the vehicle when the officer attempted to swerve to avoid a collision. The patrol car struck both the vehicle and Rios Aguilar, fatally injuring him. The investigation remains pending.
