Lincoln County, OR. – A skateboarder died after being struck by a car on Tuesday night in Lincoln County, according to authorities.
The fatal crash occurred around 11:29 p.m. on Highway 101 near milepost 121.
Investigators said a 35-year-old Depoe Bay man was riding a skateboard and was attempting to cross the highway from the eastbound shoulder when and was struck by a northbound Mack commercial motor vehicle.
The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
