For another year, Lerner & Rowe proudly joined forces with ALT AZ 93.3 and the Valley of the Sun United Way to fight hunger in Maricopa County through the Pantry Packs Program. This year, the firm contributed $6,000 to help ensure local students and their families have access to nutritious, shelf-stable food during the school year.
With more than 400,830 individuals in Maricopa County facing chronic food insecurity, the Pantry Packs Program was created to help address this growing need. Each “Pantry Pack” contains a set menu of shelf-stable pantry items that allow families to stretch their food dollars and make healthy meals at home.
Valley of the Sun United Way supplies the pantry items, while ALT AZ 93.3, Lerner & Rowe, and other local businesses and volunteers come together each October to assemble the packs. Once completed, the Pantry Packs are distributed directly to schools in South and Southwest Phoenix, Maryvale, and Guadalupe, where staff identify families with the highest need.
Throughout the current school year, the program will provide 1,500 Pantry Packs each month to help students and families stay nourished and focused.

- $64 – Provides 8 Pantry Packs
Even though this year’s event has wrapped up, the need remains. Community members can still join the fight against hunger by making an online donation to support Valley of the Sun United Way’s Pantry Packs Program. Every contribution helps provide essential food supplies for families across Maricopa County.
