Bend, OR. – A 26-year-old man sustained critical injuries in a bicycle accident on Friday night in Bend, police said.
The accident occurred at around 8:16 p.m. on October 17, at NE Third Street near Thurston Avenue.
Police said a 26-year-old from Bend was crossing NE Third Street with his bicycle when he was struck by a white RAV4 driven by a 61-year-old Idaho resident.
The impact threw the man onto the roadway.
According to the report, the victim was transported to St. Charles in critical condition.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
NE Third Street was closed for approximately 2.5 hours to allow on-scene investigations.
