Hood River County, OR. – One person was killed Wednesday night in a motorcycle accident in Hood River County, according to the Oregon State Police.

The deadly accident happened around 9:23 p.m. on October 15 on Highway 281 near milepost 7.

Police said a Subaru Impreza was traveling southbound and was attempting to pass a southbound Toyota Corolla, in a no-passing zone, when it struck a northbound Honda VT750 motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota driver was uninjured in the accident.

The Subaru driver was uninjured and was arrested for DUII, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering X2, and Manslaughter 1.

The accident closed the highway for about five hours.

The police are investigating the accident.
