A 51-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were killed in the accident
Georgetown, IL. – A second person has died from injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon in Georgetown.
According to the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 3:26 p.m. on State Route 1 at 15th Street.
Three vehicles were traveling southbound when the rear vehicle attempted to pass the middle one. The vehicle then rear-ended the leading vehicle.
The impact sent the passing vehicle into the northbound lane, where it collided with an oncoming vehicle.
A 51-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were killed in the accident. Both were residents of Danville.
