Georgetown, IL. – At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Georgetown on Wednesday morning.
According to the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 12:16 p.m. on State Route 1 near 15th Street.
A southbound vehicle attempted to pass another and rear-ended a third vehicle in the process.
The passing vehicle then collided head-on with a northbound vehicle.
A 51-year-old man was killed in the accident.
Multiple people were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
