The Ford driver and a passenger were taken to a local hospital for treatment

Coos County, OR. – One person was killed and two others were injured Saturday morning in a head-on collision in Coos County, according to the Oregon State Police.
The fatal collision happened around 10:44 a.m. on October 4 on Highway 42 near milepost 27.
Police said a Chevrolet 1500 was traveling eastbound when it lost control and spun into the westbound lane, where it crashed head-on into a westbound Ford F-350.
The Chevrolet driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ford driver and a passenger were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The collision closed the highway for about two hours.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
