Police said the man was driving eastbound on Route 16, when for unknown reasons, he drove into oncoming traffic and crashed into a semi-truck head-on.

Shelbyville, IL. – A 47-year-old man was killed after a head-on collision on Saturday morning in Shelbyville, according to the Illinois State Police.
The accident happened at around 9:00 a.m. on October 4, on IL-16 at Shelby County Road North 2250.
Police said the man was driving eastbound on Route 16, when for unknown reasons, he drove into oncoming traffic and crashed into a semi-truck head-on.
The drivers were the sole occupants of the vehicles.
The 47-year-old man was declared dead at the crash site.
The semi-truck driver, a 62-year-old man, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities closed the highway until around 3:14 p.m.
No other information concerning this collision was provided.
An investigation is underway.
